Price performance is right for the food. I think the wine menu is too overpriced. In my opinion, you mostly pay for the name here. The staff is very friendly on both visits. A clear recommendation on my part to eat here when you are on Sylt. Zanzibar has to be visited. 👍🏼😊

A must for every Sylt vacation. It's always fun to linger and eat here. The only thing is: the 6:00 p.m. meal time is quite stressful as the new guests arrive at 8:00 p.m. That's better at the back ...

Now we have also been to the legendary Sansibar. Yes, it's true, the visit is a must for a visit to Sylt. Happy wait staff, great atmosphere and fantastic food. The selection of drinks INCREDIBLE.

Even in cool temperatures, you can sit out on the terrace thanks to radiant heaters with a view of the playground. The staff was very friendly and the food varied and tasty. Unfortunately, the drinks menu is very confusing and it is difficult to choose. I was quite disappointed with the location inside - it was very dark and a lot of hustle and bustle. All in all we liked it and the Sansibar is definitely worth a visit on Sylt!

It was interesting to experience this place. You can tell that it is a "must" for many, "standing in line" is accepted for entry into the restaurant. But that also speaks for a well thought-out concept at this time. The restaurant, which is located in the dunes, is bustling with activity. The operating staff is always on the move, but always friendly. So, whoever has to / wants to have been there - go ahead!

What a nice place! As always: - location - food - service - Fazit 😊 We were 8 people. 4 adults, 4 kids. Went there 11:45 as the restaurant opens at 12 and you have to line up as the quantity of people allowed is limited (corona). So be there in time!.... But there are lots of places. Inside and outside as well. The terrace offers some electric heating as well. We had a table outside. Just big enough for 8 guests. The playground is just close by. So you can relax and watch your children play. Corona: all waiters wear a mask! Youl find desinfection on several entrances. There is limited access to the area because of corona. The food was good. Not outstanding but good. As it is Sylt... It's a bit expensive. But worthwhile. We hat pasta, fish soup, sushi, salat, fish and chips, Kaiserschmarrn, coffee, water and truffle fries (!). The service was very good. Quick, very friendly and really taking care of us. So overall? Yes it's a posh place, sponsored by Daimler, SAP and others. Prices are quit high but it's worthwhile going there. Plan to spend a few hours there. You won't regret it

Simply great! Worth a visit at any time. Insanely delicious food. Everything tastes great and the selection is outstanding. The shop is also coping with the current Corona situation. You will be welcomed with a drink at the parking lot and the service is generally very polite. I was very satisfied with my visit and I think it's good that you are assigned to your seat downstairs to avoid traffic jams in front of the shop. I am very grateful to have had this delicious experience and enjoy my last days on Sylt.

What really needs to be emphasized positively: Although Sansibar has developed into a big brand in Germany and you would therefore always have the shop full just through tourism - the quality has remained absolutely top class. The price level is certainly higher, but it is also okay and appropriate. Every visit is another (taste) experience

Always great. Even in the Corona time everything is perfectly organized. Great staff in a good mood and super friendly. I've been coming for 25 years and I'm always very satisfied. We are always happy to be here. If you don't have a reservation, you will now be waiting for a free space at the parking lot. But it never lasted more than 15 minutes for us and the employee there was very friendly.

It was a nice first visit ... food was delicious and thanks for the great service ... we will definitely be back!

I honestly have to admit that I would have expected more from this location. There are hardly any vegetarian dishes and when we asked whether the kitchen could cook us something small, we were told that this was not possible. The choice of drinks and especially wine is all the greater. The prices for the food are unfortunately very high, even though most of the food is prepared in a thermomixer. Another positive thing is that we were offered cool drinks free of charge when we waited at the parking lot of about half an hour.

Actually very tasty here ... but in the current situation (Corona) unfortunately no attention is paid to distance rules, wearing a mask or wiping the tables. An employee clears the dirty dishes from the table, apparently greets acquaintances with a handshake and dedicates himself to clean cutlery without washing / disinfecting hands in order to wrap it in what is being served. When we tried to address it, the announcement "that is not a duty" came more clumsily. Overpriced, food prepared by the Thermomix is ​​simply not recommended for tourism NO WAY !!!!!

Outstanding service that made it possible to organise a dinner and voucher for my mum's wedding anniversary - from Australia! They went above and beyond to help me plan a surprise which can be hard living on the other side of the world. Big thanks to Thorsten!

The Kaiserschmarren was touted as the best ever. Unfortunately, that's not entirely true, but it wasn't invented on Sylt either. By the way, don't look for the currywurst. The Kaiserschmarren was good, but not great. It was served with vanilla ice cream, strawberry cream, red fruit jelly and applesauce. The cappuccino was just OK too. The location is very nice and you can sit outside. However, it is completely overrated. The playground for the kids is great and so is the beach. You have to expect long waiting times but the wait was shortened with a free drink. My conclusion: You can do it, but you don't have to. You don't miss a thing.

As always great. Nice service good food. Top. Every year with pleasure. You have to get in line now. But it doesn't take long.

A visit to Zanzibar ... ... is what you make of it. We were there both times around lunchtime and were not put off by the queue. Rightly so: because the seat selection is efficiently managed here in Corona times and we were at the table after a maximum of 30 minutes. Or rather: in a beach chair. You can linger calmly and comfortably here. The waitresses were always friendly, quick and you never had the feeling of being processed quickly. The wine list is very extensive, the truffle fries as legendary as their reputation and the Kaiserschmarn also lives up to the addition “with all the trimmings”. And to the audience: it's just Sylt, so from to everything 🤷🏻‍♂️😅 And for all those who criticize the lack of a view: just go to the beach and enjoy the sea after eating

Fortunately, we had already booked in January - the call came to confirmation this afternoon: are you really coming? Sure, of course! Without waiting through two controls and we were sitting at the table with a distance and a view of the dunes. A perfect evening with delicious food and good wine! The service by Sven was casual, unobtrusive, but star-worthy attentive. We would like to come again!

Just the Zanzibar. A must for every Sylt vacation. Last been there on May 20th, 2020. Despite the corona hygiene restrictions, well implemented. Great food, great wines! Simply Zanzibar! The next visit will be in October, unfortunately this time without brunch :(

Top Class Restaurant!

Changed corona rules and misinformation of a staff member caused us to walk all the way up and not be seated. On top of that staff was incredibly rude. Does not live up to its standard and fame.

The famed Sansibar which is often quoted as the most beautiful beach restaurant in Germany. During our visit, reservations were not permitted (potentially due to COVID 19) which resulted in a longer line up. While the restaurant appearance was not quite as expected from the hype - the food quality and service however was excellent. The wide menu range for drinks and food meant that all budgets could enjoy the experience which I admired. The burger (30€) was extremely large and came with an appetizer salad as well in addition to the picture below.

The best restaurant in Sylt!!! 💜Beautiful view, delicious food and very friendly staff! 🔝

I would simply guess there are not many places essentially everyone has already heard of when it comes to Sylt, but the "Sansibar" is one of them. It still is a kind of "cult" and goes far beyond eating and drinking. You can meanwhile have all kinds of merchandise with the iconic logo of the two crossed pirate swords ⚔. It's quite posh and this can sometimes be a little annoying but still a very beautiful spot directly located in close proximity to the beach. The food is delicious and fresh but the place is usually totally overgrowded, so you better be prepared to stay with a drink outside and enjoy the view and the spirit. I love the strawberry punch which consists of strawberry wine, prosecco and presh strawberries and is superb delicious and refreshing. It's 9,-€ a glass but that's Sansibar where you are and you better get used to it 😜. Little advice, the parking lot is usually also crowded and will cost you. If you just pass it than a 100m further ahead is a public parking lot for free and usually with more free space. It's just you have to walk a bit and this is for some people obviously a total no go! 🤣

Great location (enjoying the sunset while eating in the outside area), great service (they also friendly found a place for us although we did not have a reservation), great food (awesome salad with fresh tuna), great wine (Sauvignon Casillero del Diablo), right price for such experience. I will definitely come back!

Iconic place for Sylt, a must try when visiting the island. Definetly make a reservation in advance! The food is very good, great wine selection. The prices seem ok. Had some amazing steak!

Our favorite restaurant during our time on Sylt; it's a bit cliché, but it's simply a well-managed restaurant. Service was among the best I've ever seen and food was very good. We especially loved the sushi.

Excellent food and made to feel very welcome. A special thank you to our waiter Dennis who looked after us well and spoke very good English.

Ignoring the high prices -- this is Sylt, you know -- this is a classic spot. It's a restaurant, a kids' play area, a beach hangout, and a drinking spot all in one. Ambiance is great, food is excellent, and the service friendly, patient and forgiving. The crowd? Semi-posh but out for fun. Everybody is scruffy, like they're recovering from last night (or continuing the party). Never thought I'd enjoy a place where so many Rolexes are worn so prominently but I did.

Great food, really good service and an amazing view to go with your food.

In short: super expensive, tons of wine, great service, super crammed most of the time but simply worth it. If you are on the island, do yourself a favour and just go for one meal here; the food is divine. Afterwards you can digest walking it off on the super close beach.
